Trauma-Informed Counselling
and Psychotherapy
My Approach
My work is grounded in a trauma-informed approach that sees you as a whole person, shaped by your relationships, wider social context, and life experiences.
These may include single overwhelming events or ongoing stressors which can influence a person's sense of safety over time. The impact may be held not only in memory, but also in the body, emotions, and relationships.
Rather than viewing your responses as problems to be fixed, they are understood as meaningful ways of coping. Healing is recognised as deeply individual, with no fixed path or timeline.
Sessions are gently paced and do not require retelling the past. Alongside conversation, body-based and creative approaches may be included to support regulation, expression, and a greater sense of ease.
Ways of Working
My work draws on a range of approaches:
1 EMDR
A structured approach that supports the mind and body to process difficult experiences at a manageable pace, without needing to go into detail or relive the past.
2 Initiatic Art Therapy
A creative process using imagery and art making to explore inner experiences when words feel hard to find (no artistic skill is needed).
3 Somatic approaches
Gentle, body-based practices that focus on sensations, grounding, and the present moment, helping to support a sense of safety, regulation, and connection.

an acknowledgement of country
I acknowledge the caretakers of the land where I practice, the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation. I recognise their enduring connection to the land, seas and waterways which have always been places of community and culture.
I acknowledge that our collective healing requires listening to uncomfortable truths, honoring the strength that has survived generation after generation, and actively working towards a more just and inclusive future.
